Much of my most complex work has been done in support of specific projects or developments; applications for funding and visualisations on behalf of clients, both reproduced for dissemination and displayed during presentations. I have done extensive work for the theatre, and recent clients have included shops, restaurants, major tourist attractions and an archaeological site. In this work, in addition to site visits where possible, I am often working from photographs, plans and faxes and interpreting and developing the client's own rough sketches. I aim to give a little more vitality than an architect's drawing. My drawings have been used in publicity material for the tourist industry throughout the country, and recent work includes an illustrated time chart and a large scale pictorial map - both for specific Tourism Initiatives - and interpretative storyboards for a museum. I often employ a lighthearted style, with figures no doubt influenced by my work many years ago on comic books. My own drawings have also been used as illustrations in publications and books, and I was given a free hand for the fifty illustrations I made for Lakeland Country Churches, which, while it sold out of its first edition, is sadly now out of print. Some of the original artwork for the Illustrations (which is 40% larger than reproduced) is, however, available for sale. Click
