At the end of 2000 and for the early part of 2001 I was involved inthe major restoration project at St. Michael's Church in Workington. Having produced some historical reconstructions for the interpretive displays, the most exciting and challenging work came when I was commissioned to design a frieze of frosted glass windows, and subsequently to create a series of figures of northern Saints, all for the interior of the nave. It was particularly satisfying and challenging to work for the church, who showed some boldness in electing designs which treated tradition in a my own populist way.

The figures are created from a succession of shaped laminates, with a little detailing in metal, painted, and in places gilt. Photographs of the finished work are not yet available but will be added later.

I have advised upon and designed displays for public and private organizations, including Ambleside's Armitt Museum; working with Beatrix Potter's biographer, I designed the first major display in England of her original drawings of fungi, interpreting her early career as an aspiring scientist.
